- Verify that employees operating aerial lifts are trained and certified.
- Review every part of the vehicle and the lift prior to operation.
- Inspect the surrounding work area for any hazards.
- Don’t override hydraulic, electrical or mechanical safety features for any reason
- Stay attentive to your surroundings when working near power lines and wires.
- Refrain from surpassing reach and weight limits.
- Don’t lean, sit or climb on the edge of the bucket or platform.
- Use outriggers, brakes and wheel chocks when possible.
- Don’t put scaffolding on the aerial lift platform.
- Keep the machine away from other equipment.
- Don’t move the machine (Boom Lift/Scissor Lift) in an upright position.
- Wear a full-body harness or restraining belt.
- Clear workers and pedestrians from the base and surrounding area of the Machine (Boom Lift/Scissor Lift).
- Don’t use the Machine (Boom Lift/Scissor Lift) for lifting overweight objects or supplies.
